How to Keep Your Teeth for Life

Believe it or not: there are approximately 25% of Americans over age 65 who have no teeth, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Keeping your teeth is part of leading a healthy life and neglecting any oral health issues can lead to bigger, more significant health concerns.

Healthy Teeth for Life
Many times, caring for your teeth and practicing good oral hygiene means you are protecting your overall health and well-being. Of course, there are times when dental crowns and dentures are needed.  However, the best way to prevent gum disease and keep your teeth healthy is to:

1.               Attend your dental cleanings twice annually
2.               Floss daily
3.               Brush for approximately 2 minutes twice daily
4.               Rinse out your mouth with an anti-microbial mouthwash
5.               Chew sugar-free gum after meals or snacking

Invest some time and energy into keeping your mouth sparkling and healthy. When you do the right things - prevention wise - you are sure to be on the road to keeping your natural adult teeth for life.
